THE LOGO

Ko Papatuanuku – Green

Combining mother earth with Tane of the forest. The left koru represents life – Te Ira Tangata. The right koru represents the maunga teitei – the lofty mountain and the challenge to reach the top. The pinnacle of achievement.

Ko Tangaroa – Blue

The water element necessary for one’s very survival. The two koru represent Nga Ngaru Hauora O Aotearoa the name given to the organisation.

Nga Ngaru – Ko te Mauri o nga waitai o Tangaroa

The life force, life essence of the ocean waters. It is a relentless and sometimes an awesome energy crated from within, soothing and calming one moment, wild and angry the next.

The late Niko Tangaroa kaumatua of Nga Ngaru Hauora O Aotearoa who with many others visioned this association. Niko bestowed the name and the whakaaro of the logo.
