Strategic Project Grants
Strategic Project Grants are about thinking strategically and working collaboratively, and have been developed to support projects with long-term outcomes that benefit museums, galleries, iwi groups, their taonga, and their communities.
We welcome applications from organisations of all sizes and stages of development, as well as collaborative applications from groups of organisations. There are two funding rounds each year – October and April.

Disability Training Grants
Training grants are available to assist employers with costs arising from their employee's participation in a Ministry of Health approved national certificate or diploma.
The aim is to increase the number of people in the disability support service workforce accessing and completing basic training. This will improve the knowledge and skills of the workforce, and ensure this is underpinned by appropriate attitudes and values.
The key outcome of increased access to training is better quality support for people living with disabilities

Leadership development scheme
Leadership grants are available to assist employers with costs arising from their employee's participation in a Ministry of Health approved leadership development programme.
Middle managers and senior staff (leaders) within organisations provide leadership, mentoring and stability for the workforce. Developing leadership expertise and skills within this group will help strengthen the workforce and improve the quality of support available for people living with disabilities.

Consumer leadership and training fund (CLTF)
The consumer leadership and training fund (CLTF) provides funding to improve access to training for people with disabilities and their families.
The aim is to foster leadership development by people with disabilities and their families, to enable consumers to become more confident in managing their own supports and to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for people with disabilities.

2010 Maori Language Scholarships at Waiariki
To celebrate the launch of Te Wananga a Ihenga in February this year, The Waiariki Institute of Technology is offering 40 scholarships for students enrolling in the level 5 Diploma in Te Reo Maori based at the Mokoia campus. The $3500 Scholarships will cover all course enrolment costs except the student association and course cost fees.
The Waiariki Te Reo Maori scholarships are part of the Waiariki commitment to supporting the use of te reo Maori within our community. The diploma will focus on supporting learners to speak conversational Maori and to develop a good knowledge of tikanga Maori. The learning will take place in a friendly and supportive learning environment.

Hauora Maori Scholarship
Online applications will be available 3 March 2010 on the Ministry of Health website www.moh.govt.nz.
The purpose of the scholarship is to build Maori workforce capacity in the health sector by assisting students to undertake an NZQA accredited course in health and disability studies.
The closing date for application is 5pm Wednesday 7 April 2010.

Hauora Maori Scholarships
The purpose of the scholarship is to assist students to undertake or complete an NZQA accredited course in health and disability studies, in order to build Maori workforce capacity in the sector.
Hauora Maori Scholarships are open to any person who is:
- enrolled and attending University, Polytechnic or Wananga
- studying a health related, NZQA accredited course, of at least 12 weeks duration
- can demonstrate a commitment to and/or competence in Maori Health and well-being studies
- has whakapapa and/or cultural links to te ao Maori or Maori communiities
The Hauora Maori Scholarships is avilable annually with the next inviation scheduled to go out in March 2007.

Primary Health Care nursing post graduate scholarships- Semester 1, 2007
Applications are now invited from New Zealand registered nurses wishing to apply for scholarships for study in the first semester of the 2007 academic year. These scholarships are to support nurses currently practising in primary health care settings to undertake post-graduate nursing courses in primary health care.
Closing dates for applications for these scholarships for those wishing to undertake study in the second semester 2006 is 5pm 8 November 2006.

PRIMARY HEALTH CARE NURSE PRACTITIONER (Rural) SCHOLARSHIPS – 2007
Applications are now invited from eligible New Zealand registered nurses wishing to apply for these substantial scholarships to assist them to complete their Nurse Practitioner training in the 2007 academic year. These scholarships are to support those rural nurses who require one year’s full time study to complete the Nursing Council of New Zealand’s requirements for approval as a Nurse Practitioner.
Closing dates for applications for these scholarships for those wishing to undertake study in 2007 is 5pm 8 November 2006.

Health Scholarships
The M?ori Education Trust is financed from private bequests and trusts set up from individuals or businesses. A primary function of the Trust is to provide and administer scholarships in education for M?ori students. In addition to MET funded awards, the trust is also contracted to administer scholarships on behalf of the Ministry of Education and other agencies.
